    Tardy Bell:

    Morning Student Drop-Off:

Students may be dropped off beginning at 7:00 a.m. at the following locations:

    • Front of school (Cimarron Street)
    • Cimarron Street circle driveway (near cafeteria)

Students may be dropped off beginning at 7:00 a.m. at the following locations:

    • Orleans Street circle drive

*Remember, there WILL NOT be adult supervision for students before 7:00 a.m. Student safety is our number ONE priority! Please help us by not leaving students unattended before 7:00 a.m.

Students will enter the building and sit in the hallway to read quietly while waiting to enter their classroom.

**Students are tardy to school if they are not in the building by 7:35 a.m.  At 7:35, all drop off doors will be closed and locked.  If a student arrives after 7:35 a.m., a parent or adult must escort the student to the front office to sign them in and obtain a tardy slip.

    Student Dismissal:
Cimarron is one of the largest elementary schools in GPISD and our goal is to ensure that students arrive home safely!

This year Cimarron will continue our dismissal procedure previously implemented.  Each family will be assigned a car tag and number.  The car tag you are issued should be hung from the rearview mirror of your vehicle and be fully visible to staff members.  Whether your child is a walker, parent pick-up or bus rider, everyone will receive a tag and number.  Please help your child learn his/her number.

Students who walk home will be dismissed from the front of the school in the office area.  If you are walking to the school to pick up your child, please bring your car tag to help us quickly dismiss your child to you.

Students will only be allowed to walk home without an adult if a note from a parent is on file.  These walkers will be escorted out of the building and safely off campus.

*PLEASE NOTE:  You must communicate any changes in your child's dismissal information with your child's teacher and/or the front office via email no later than 2:30 p.m.*

Again, our number one goal is to keep our students safe.  The dismissal procedure helps ensure students are monitored and that we take every precaution to maintain a safe environment for them.

As with any process, it will take some time the first few days to have everything running smoothly.  Students will be relearning their numbers and remembering the procedures we have in place so we are asking for your patience and understanding.  Remember it is for the SAFETY of your child and the other students of Cimarron Elementary – the Best School in the World!
