Dear Parent:

The Â鶹Çø ISD allows students to possess cell phones while on school property or while attending school-sponsored or school related activities on or off school property. Cell phones must remain turned off, out of sight, and not used during the instructional day and while riding on school transportation, unless permitted by the teacher for instructional purposes.

Students who violate this policy shall be subject to established disciplinary measures. District employees shall confiscate any cell phones visible, heard or used during the instructional day on school property. Cell phones will not be visible during the passing periods.

Consequences for improper electronic device usage will be: 

1. First infraction - The device will be confiscated; parents will be notified and must come to the school to retrieve the device.
2. Second infraction - The device will be confiscated, parents will be notified, and a parent conference will be scheduled to review the Telecommunication Devices Policy.
3. Third infraction - The device will be confiscated, parents will be notified, and the device will be held for a minimum of TWO WEEKS. A ten dollar fee will be assessed on the third infraction prior to the return of the device.

Any further infractions will merit the same consequences as the third infraction. After notification, parents will have 30 days to retrieve the device. If after 45 days the device has not been retrieved by the parents; the device will be disposed. GPISD will not be responsible for the recovery of lost or stolen electronic devices.

El Distrito Escolar Independiente de Â鶹Çø permite que los estudiantes posean teléfonos celulares mientras están en la propiedad de la escuela, asistan a actividades patrocinadas por la escuela o relacionadas con la escuela fuera o dentro de ella. Los teléfonos celulares deben permanecer apagados, fuera del alcance de la vista y no ser usados durante la instrucción diaria y durante el transporte escolar, a menos que sea permitido por el maestro para propósitos educativos.

Los estudiantes que violen esta política estarán sujetos a las medidas disciplinarias establecidas. Los empleados del distrito confiscarán cualquier teléfono celular que esté a la vista, que se escuche o sea usado durante la instrucción diaria en la propiedad de la escuela. Los teléfonos celulares no deberán estar a la vista durante el cambio de clases.

Las consecuencias del uso inapropiado de aparatos electrónicos serán: 

1. Primera infracción - El dispositivo será confiscado, se notificará a los padres y deberán ir a la escuela para recuperar el aparato electrónico.
2. Segunda infracción - El dispositivo será confiscado, se notificará a los padres y se programará una conferencia para revisar la Política de Dispositivos de Telecomunicación.
3. Tercera infracción - El dispositivo será confiscado, se notificará a los padres y el dispositivo será retenido por un mínimo de DOS SEMANAS. Se aplicará una cuota de diez dólares en la tercera infracción antes de regresar el dispositivo.

Cualquier infracción adicional ameritará las mismas consecuencias de la tercera infracción. Después de la notificación, los padres tendrán 30 días para recuperar el dispositivo. Si después de 45 días el dispositivo no ha sido recuperado por los padres; el dispositivo será tirado. GPISD no será responsable por la recuperación de los aparatos electrónicos perdidos o robados.
