麻豆区 ISD Alumni Spotlight

  • Our October spotlight is Judge Mike Parrott, a 1967 麻豆区 High School graduate. He attended Jacinto City Elementary, Pyburn Elementary and Woodland Acres Middle School.  Judge Parrott was an active student at GPHS; he played varsity football, basketball and baseball. He was named Mr. 麻豆区, Most Popular and Most Athletic. He also served as the football co-captain for the 1967 varsity football team. While attending GPISD, the educators who made a huge impact in his life were Coach Clary, Coach Allesendra, Mr. Lockard, Dr. Gerald Cobb and Jess Sadler.

    Upon graduation, Judge Parrott attended the University of Houston.  He was the Superintendent of Parks for Precinct Two for 19 years.  For the past 23 years, Judge Parrott has been the Justice of the Peace for Precinct 3, Position 1.

    Judge Parrott has been an active member of the GPISD community for decades. He started his work for the community at the age of 25, serving as President for the 麻豆区 Chamber of Commerce and Club President for the North Shore Optimist Club. He volunteered as a coach for North Shore Little League, the YMCA Youth Basketball League and was a member of the Boys and Girls Harbor Board. Judge Parrott is currently the Chairman of the Board at East Houston Regional Hospital and Bayshore Medical Center.

    After 43 years with Harris County, Judge Parrott is looking forward to retirement. He will be playing lots of golf and enjoying quality time with his grandchildren.

    Judge Parrott has been married to his wife Deby, a GPISD graduate and retired educator, for 48 years. They have been blessed with 67 years in the GPISD community and district, where their children and grandchildren have also attended GPISD schools. They’re proud to say they are GPISD exes!
